Day 78- Recovery in Grand Lake, Day 2

Things are feeling a little better, but not great.  I am at least able to walk around the house without too much pain.

Most of my day was spent on the floor, either stretching or with my legs up a wall; most of Nick’s day was spent watching Netflix.

Candice had an appointment in Denver, so she was gone most of the day.  When she got back to the house, she cooked her famous curry dish for us and Geoff, the Chief of Operations of the mushroom business.  It was the perfect comfort meal and was DELICIOUS.

Candice’s curry is amazing

We stayed up a little later than usual (8pm is hiker midnight and we were up way past that), but it was worth it.  We played games like UNO (following the actual rules, might I add - everyone has their own way of playing so it’s important to discuss them before you begin) and a bit of Bananagrams.  It was a great time.

I definitely won’t be able to hike tomorrow, but we’ll see how I feel.

If anything, this setback has shown me just how much I love hiking the CDT - I’m devastated that I’m not able to hike right now.
