Day 8 - Agua Caliente Creek

Day 8

Start: 1600 - Warner Springs

End: 1800 - Agua Caliente Creek

Miles (today) - 5

Miles (cumulative) - 115

Today was another easy day, aka a nero (near zero) in hiker terminology.  Even though we both feel fantastic, we want to be sure to give our bodies some well-deserved rest.  We slept in, were slow to pack up, and even took the time to soak our feet in an Epsom salt bucket.

By the time we were ready to hike (around 1300), it was a little too hot to start.  I was anxious to get hiking again but Nick convinced me that getting extra rest was far better than hiking in the heat; therefore, we killed a few more hours talking to other hikers and following up with real life (ex. responding to emails, signing last-minute paperwork for the house closure, dealing with credit card fraud).

We finally left Warner Springs at 1600 and made it to the Agua Caliente Creek two hours later. The walk was very peaceful and I loved every second.

I loved this tree - I have a thing for trees I guess

thought this tire swing looked fun

We decided to camp near the creek.  The area is covered with poison oak, though, so I'll have to be careful where I squat! :)

This sign was very helpful -thank you whoever put it here

2nd Lunch, Sugar Rush, and Craig camped near us tonight.  It's been rather interesting. :)
