So this happened today:  :)

Ellie and I hiked together again - have I mentioned how much I enjoy hiking with her? It makes me sad to know she's going to town tomorrow (to celebrate the 4th) while Nick and I are not.  

We hiked until 1430, which is when we saw this on the Halfmile app:

We walked over to the 1000 marker to take a peek and then we waited for Nick in the shade.  While we waited, we chatted with other hikers (Sunny and Killer were there when we showed up; Space Jam, Pope, Fat Cathy, and B Squared showed up later), we snacked on a ton of food, and we drank some Fireball Whiskey that Ellie packed out in a water bottle to commemorate 1000 miles.  

Nick strolled up around 1630 and we had a fantastic 1000 PCT mile celebration with Moses and Ellie.

1000 miles - it seems like a lot but we're not even halfway done!

Now the four of us (Ellie, Moses, Nick, and me) are camping together.  It's been fun- we even had another campfire (although I don't think these insane mosquitoes are the least bit daunted by the smoke).
