Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

Most Frequently Asked Question: WHY?

 Beth (aka Apples):

Why do I put myself through the mental and physical pain of long-distance hiking? I often wonder the same thing (especially when I’m hiking). I don’t identify as a hiker, either, which makes it even more baffling.

It boils down to the two following points:

  1. I’ve never been able to pass up the promise of Adventure / the idea of a Quest. Nick knows this all too well and uses it against me (in the best way). :)

  2. I do it because I don’t want to. I 100% agree with David Goggins when he said, “Continue to put obstacles in front of yourself, because that’s where you’ll find the friction that will help you grow even stronger."

Nick (aka Man Hands):

I've never been very good at explaining my thoughts, feelings, or reasoning for anything I do.  So I'll let Peter Gibbons do it for me...
