Candice, Nick, and I walked down the hill into town for coffee and breakfast - I’m happy to report that I was able to walk down the hill without too much pain today. I told Nick that when I’m able to walk down the hill without any pain I’ll be good to go.
We sat at The Hub (where we got coffee) for quite a while, chatting and people-watching. When we finally decided to walk back to the house we passed Sage, a massage therapy place, with a sign on the door saying there were appointments available. As I stood outside, considering whether or not a massage would help, the owner came out and talked with me a bit. I explained my issue and she said a massage would probably do me some good (of course she did, she owns a massage business). Still, I figured that a massage probably wouldn’t hurt and made an appointment for 1pm.
The downhill walk back into town for my massage felt ok (as long as I moved slowly and carefully) and the massage itself was amazing. It was an hour entirely focused on my legs and she really got in there, loosening up my very tight calf muscles and even cupping around my shin and ankle, which felt heavenly. The hour went by much too fast.
Nick met me when the massage was over with great news - the compression ankle brace I ordered from Amazon came in, so I have that to add to my arsenal, too. I put it on and it makes a world of difference.
Since Candice needs to be back in Denver tomorrow and since things are better and since Nick and I are both feeling A LOT stir crazy, we are going to try the hiking thing again tomorrow. I’m nervous but excited.
