No rain today!  I am so grateful for the sun - every day that we hike in the sunshine is a true gift.

The hiking was ok until the last 6 miles or so, which were downhill, rocky, and muddy.  I couldn't help but wish I was at the hotel already (so much for appreciating the moment...).  By the time I finally made it to the hotel I felt as if I needed a stiff drink and was ready to tell Nick to get me some alcohol.

But then I walked into the Summit Inn and ran into Shortcut.  Talking to her was EXACTLY what i needed - it made me smile and suddenly I didn't need that drink.  I saw Roswell, too, and chatted with him a bit before making my way to the room Nick was already relaxing in.

Along with our resupply package, our mothers sent us anniversary cards (so awesome!) and we also received our passports and Canada entry paperwork (which were delivered to the Chevron gas station next door by mistake).

I love this card, it's so true!

Mary, your drawing of the tent is pretty spot on!

The room is nice.  The bed is even nicer.  Sleeping on that pad I carry around really isn't cutting it - if I was smart I'd have Mary send me the air mattress, but the thought of blowing it up every night after a long day of hiking makes me tired.  I'm choosing convenience over comfort, which probably isn't wise.
